HOW 2 PLAY GHRI BALL
COURT SIZE: Roughly the size of a volleyball court, with a metre of room on all sides. (≈20mx10m). The court should be grassy or otherwise made of a soft material.
EQUIPMENT: 2 light, fairly small balls (such as a dodgeball). A number of pool noodles equal to half the number of players.
SCORING: First team to capture the other teams ball, while still posessing their own wins.
PLAYERS: 4+ (i.e: 2+ people on each team).
THE GAME:
- Each team starts on the opposite short sides of the court, lying down on their stomaches.
- Pool noodles should be scattered evenly around the playing field.
- Each ball is placed a metre away from the edge of the court, behind where the two teams starts play. The two balls should be on opposite sides.
- GAME START! Each team should decide who in the team is attacking or defending. The aim of each team is to 'capture' the ball of the other team and bring it back to their starting side, and place the ball one metre behind the edge of the court.
- Anyone on either team can 'tag' the member of the other team with a pool noodle. If this is done, they are OUT (!) and must sit on the sides of the court.
- OPTIONAL RULE, FOR LARGER GAMES: a player that touches the area behind the court on the other team's side with a pool noodle may shout "GHRIB". All players that are out on either team are then allowed to come in.
- Music is essential for the playing of the game of GHRI BALL. It is reccomended that players take it upon themselves to create a selection of 10-15 songs, rather than simply getting one online. The music should be light, upbeat and jazzy.
